I always dream of having one of those studios found in those spiffy design blog. Ultra organized and precisely decorated, they illustrate the genius at work.
I don’t have one of those studios. At best, these can be my “before” photos. Maybe one day I will have the means to create a professional workspace… and wardrobe… and life….
Where was I again? Oh! Studio!
I shouldn’t gripe, I actually have two decent drafting table to do drawing, collage and computer work on. It has occurred to me that I should have cleaned up my studio before I photographed but I guess you get the REAL experience this way. Raw, uncut Megan studio, with wads of tape gathering on the edge, bubble wrap gathering in a pile off to the side and stacks of clutter EVERYWHERE. Hoarders, here I come.
Ok, this isn’t what it looks like. If you said, “Megan, is that a baby changing table you’re using as a flat file?” then I suppose it is what it looks like. Whatever. It works in its own way and I got it for free. Winner? How about points for originality? No? Okay.
Maybe half of my book collection. I packed a bunch for good will and the rest are stacked in my closet. I guess I’ll put bookshelves on my to-buy list behind flat files. Or stop buying books.
Art work drying on large sheets of plexi. I have so much scratched plexiglas leftover from my thesis show, useless for shows, but works well as an extra clean surface.
Stack of prints to sort for the eventual art sale. I also been reworking old prints with drawing media. It’s been fun.
Wonderland
A much more colorful version of, “The Longest Winter.” This was originally a test print that had too many layers of silkscreen, but I managed to salvage it. Woot.
Limitations
Color! I love it. Now I need to make more prints.
